Thankful | Montclair NJ Family Portrait Photographer

Thanksgiving morning…. it seems we are all a little crazed trying to get everything done before the big feast, long weekend and the Christmas season officially starts!    This year, we are headed to my SIL and while I don’t have to make the whole meal (thank GOD), I do have to make a special turkey, stuffing, pie, etc. that my boys can eat.   Since they are on a special diet, I am a BYO kinda mom who is rarely seen without her tupperware!   So, like many of you, there will be lots of cooking for me today.

To be perfectly honest, Thanksgiving has never been my favorite holiday.  It just seems there are women working their butts off in the kitchen and men half asleep in front of the TV.    While I love to cook, it never seemed quite fair, ya know?   But the one thing I’ve always loved about thanksgiving is that it forces us to take a minute to stop, linger and really think about what is important and what/who we are thankful for.   To think about what we HAVE that makes us happy.  To focus on the right now.   And for me, my family tops that list.  They are truly the blessings in my life and the people I can laugh, cry, scream, dream with.  I am very lucky and I know that.  Somehow,  thank you just doesn’t do justice to how I feel.   Its one of the things I plan on working on this year.  Giving back and finding a better way to express gratitude.   So stay tuned.    ;^)

I want to wish everyone a happy happy Thanksgiving.    May you and yours have a wonderful and healthy holiday season!  I hope you all take a minute to breathe and really enjoy the things that make us happy.  Life.  Even if that includes eating that second helping of pumpkin pie.  ;^)

SInce posts without photos are bor-ing, here are a few images from a recent family shoot I did.    Not only are these guys completely GORGEOUS, on the outside, but so down to earth and fun as well!    Thank you guys for being such a blast!   It was great seeing you again.
